About

The web is a very dynamic platform with infinite possibilities, and while the content's messages remain similar in style, its current trends in hardware and software formats are what govern how the content design is applied and viewed.

As a unique communication tool, the worldwide web remains as the largest, fastest, and most powerful base with the broadest selection of media possibilities for reaching customers/clients/groups etc., on a global scale. This is a true multimedia experience, and is the guideline in which imagen8 follows.

From humble new beginnings

portrait of the designer

While completing a course in video editing towards the end of 2000, I was introduced to the world of interactive media. Macromedia was the software of the day, which comprised of a bundle that included "Dreamweaver," "Flash" (version 5), "Freehand" (a precursor to Adobe's Illustrator), and my all-time favorite piece of software "Director" (version 8.5), the finest authoring tool that sent a shockwave all over the Web. Also a time when Photoshop 6 was the defining moment in taking photography out of the darkroom and into the new millennium. Digital photography had seen the light.

Many newer versions of the software have sculptured the (inter) face of the Web over the last couple of decades, and many of the old familiar names remain as powerful and creative tools, shaping the dynamic appeal of the Web, disks, and kiosks.

To dynamic new media

My dedication to web design and interactive media gained me a distinction in a Higher National Diploma while I was living in the UK. This gradually lead me to the U.S., and eventually in earning a "Web Design and Interactive Media" BSc degree at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Online Division. It had been a long and arduous period of study, mixing work with pleasure, but a journey that was none-the-less worthwhile.

A journey that has lead me around the world (www), and one that has left me well prepared for the new journey’s ahead. It is my pleasure to offer you a glimpse of my work both in class, and in the professional environment. So without further ado, it is time to think "not what I can do with the software," but what the software can do with my imagination.

Mark Sambrook. BSc. Web Design and Interactive Media.

Resume

Professional Profile:

Highly motivated self starter with a healthy array of experience in the image and design industry. Graduated in the field of "Web Design and Interactive Media," and in possession of fresh enthusiasm, and a positive drive geared towards a full-time position in web and interactive design.

Such wealth of experience was later exploited towards freelance photography in the commercial sphere.
